Kingston sports tourism manager visits Loyalist PR

Loyalist PR students enjoyed an afternoon with Sports Tourism Manager Brandon Pickard of Tourism Kingston today.

Besides the fact that we learned ice yachting is an actual sport (!), we enjoyed a full class of learning about corporate sponsorships, major game hosting, event management and much more.

Thanks to Brandon for an inspiring afternoon -- we all learned a lot.

Keep your stick on the ice!

Digital convergence at heart of today's guest lecture

Loyalist PR enjoyed a visit today from Leona Hobbs, Digital Marketing Practice Lead at Toronto's MMK Marketing.

Leona spent the full day with us, discussing digital convergence and providing useful tips for new grads looking to break into the PR market.

A lively discussion also took place in the afternoon on the subject of working in PR in a "post-truth" world.

We're grateful to Leona for her ongoing support of the Post-Grad PR program at Loyalist College, and for continuing to lead our Post-Graduate Public Relations Advisory Committee.

Because of mentors like Leona, Loyalist PR continues to thrive and meet the demands of an ever-changing marketplace.

Thanks again, Leona!

Loyalist PR grad returns to discuss PR agency life

It's always a great day when our Loyalist PR grads return to share with us what they're up to, and the projects they're working on.

Today we were fortunate to welcome back Rob Alexander (Loyalist PR 2015/16) who is now an Account Executive with Zeno Group in Toronto.

Rob was joined by his colleague, Anne Cayer, a Senior Account Manager at Zeno Group

Together, Rob and Anne shared various case studies with our Loyalist PR students, as well as discussing what it's like to work in a PR agency.
Thanks for visiting us, Rob and Anne - we enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about Zeno Group!

Loyalist PR is grateful to Aaron Bell for stopping by to teach us about video storytelling today.

Always creative and occasionally humourous (just kidding!), we truly appreciate the time and energy you took to spend the morning with us.
