Loyalist PR hosts college fashion show

Our thanks to the Loyalist PR team of Steph Nguyen, Queen Owodiong, Angie Best and Andrew Miller who organized today's Work Your Wardrobe Fashion Show at Loyalist College.
Our appreciation to ALL the PR students (and friends) who modelled in today's show as well -- you were amazing!
Despite the rainy winter weather, a full house was on hand to watch the fashion show, and pick up FREE outfits for internships and job interviews.
Finally, a big thank you to our event sponsors: Laffertys, Eclipse, Eddie Bauer, Penningtons, Big & Tall and Giant Tiger. You rock!

Loyalist PR welcomes Marketwired guests

Special thanks to Kait Fowlie, Social Media Community Manager and Angela Buna, Digital Media Specialist of Toronto who visited today to discuss Marketwired with Loyalist PR students.

Students were interested to learn the difference between traditional and multimedia news releases, as well as the extensive distribution channels available to them through newswire services like Marketwired.

We're also pleased to announce that Marketwired is the signature sponsor of our upcoming 2016 PRISM Awards luncheon. Thanks for your support of new PR professionals, Marketwired!

Consultants stop by to visit Loyalist PR

Yesterday the Post-Graduate Public Relations students at Loyalist College enjoyed a morning of learning with four independent communications consultants. The panelists included: Kate Young (Affinity Strategic Communications, Peterborough)...
... Dan Taylor (Amplify Communications, Prince Edward County)...
...Amy Sept (Nimbyist Communications, Belleville)...
and Natalie Bovair (Savoir Faire, Ottawa).
The morning was filled with interesting questions and discussion about what it takes to be an independent consultant, including the upsides and downsides of venturing out on your own.

Thank you to our wonderful panelists who informed and inspired us all.

Business etiquette luncheon a delicious affair

Loyalist PR students and faculty would like to thank Resto 213 at Loyalist College for hosting today's annual business etiquette luncheon.

Besides picking up some great tips for dining with clients from restaurant manager Margaret Beaumaster, Post-Grad PR students were also able to enjoy a final meal together before they head off in all directions for break week.

Have a great break, everyone!

Filmmaker teaches about video storytelling

Post-Grad Public Relations students at Loyalist College enjoyed a visit from local filmmaker and professional content creator Aaron Bell, owner of Aaron Bell Creative Communications Agency today.

The focus of Aaron's teaching was "Telling a Story with Video". Students learned about how to create video stories that people care about, how to create shareable videos and what type of equipment is required to create great video content.

The class also got to create their own video with Aaron's expert guidance.
Thanks for stopping by, Aaron -- we're so glad you could take the time from your busy schedule to share your ideas and insights with us!
