Free workshop series offers communication training to non-profit organizations

Now in its fifth year, "Can You Hear Us Now?" is a series of FREE community media workshops kicking off on Thursday, March 17th at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario.

Aimed at informing non-profit organizations in the greater Quinte area about the latest communications trends and tools, "Can You Hear Us Now?" has drawn hundreds of attendees over the years.

Today, the Post-Graduate Public Relations students at Loyalist announced they will present the following topics to community members in the month of March:

Thursday, March 17, 2011 (10 a.m. – 11 a.m.): “Getting Started: How to Create an Effective Communications Plan” (Room 1N1)

Thursday, March 17, 2011 (11 a.m. – noon): “What’s New with News Releases: How to Best Reach Your Partners in the Media” (Room 1N1)

Monday, March 21, 2011 (9 a.m. – 10 a.m.): “Citizen Journalism: How Today’s Social Media are Changing the Concept of Media Relations” (Room 1N1)

Monday, March 21, 2011 (10 a.m. – 11 a.m.): “You are Here: How to Put Geolocation Marketing to Work for Your Non-Profit Organization” (Room 1N1)

Monday, March 21, 2011 (11 a.m. – noon): “Virtual Fundraising: Tips for Holding a Successful Online Event" (Room 1N1)

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 (9 a.m. – 10 a.m.): “Corporate Sponsorship 101” (Room 1N1)

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 (10 a.m. – 11 a.m.): “Idea Exchange: How to Get Your Team to Work Creatively and Collaboratively” (Room 1N1)

Tuesday, March 22, 2011 (11 a.m. – noon): “Talk to Me: What’s New in the World of Online Networking” (Room 1N1)
