Welcome to Loyalist PR!

This is the first-ever entry for my new Loyalist PR blog... an exciting new venture! As full-time professor for the Post-Graduate Public Relations Program at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario, I am forever trying to keep up with my students and their various high-tech forays (yes, even Facebook!). So here it goes, everyone!

My hope is that my students (past and present) and other PR enthusiasts will visit to share their thoughts and ideas about this ever-changing field.

To get us started, here's a thought from author Michael Levine (A Branded World): "Advertising is what you pay for; public relations is what you pray for."

What do you think?

I love the new blog. This is a very worth while investment of time for the program. Having the course reflect the changes in technology for our industry is a huge first step. Congrats on the first post, and cheers to many more.

A great opportunity to really enhance student networking; for PR chat, practice with social media, and instant communication from professors. Nice move Kerry.

W00t! Go Loyalist. Go Lancers.

As a graduate of the school of media studies (journalism - print - class of 98), it is great to see you participating in the conversation.

I am so thrilled there is now an interactive way for PR students to interact with you Kerry! Way to go you're so innovative and I really hope you will have me back to be a guest speaker again this year for MRPs!

I can't wait to see ya again soon. Oh and one more congrats on the success of your latest students. Yes they of course got themselves the amazing internships that will most ceraintly get them networking and into the work force, but not without the help and guidance from one of PR's most wonderful profs.

I hope you know how valuable you have been to all of us. You're one of a kind, and one we all have to thank for our PR driven aspirations! You're FABULOUS!

Thanks for the kind (and quite unsolicited!) words , Jess. You're one of our program's success stories, and I look forward to seeing you accomplish even more great things in your career. I wish you all the best!

So I have been browsing these old posts during my lunch break. It is great to see Loyalist PR throughout the years!

Thanks, Troy! :) It's like a journal of the past couple of years - kind of fun to revisit every now and then!

Cheers,
